Sunday, August 26th - Go Greek BBQ at the Rock

The Go Greek BBQ is the first chance for Potential New Members to meet chapter members and witness their first all-Greek event. Members from every fraternity and sorority will be present to talk to and ask questions. Potential New Members are encouraged to mingle and introduce themselves to chapters they are interested in. A DJ and free food will be provided. Although the event is not required and Potential New Members can come and go at their convenience, the Go Greek BBQ is and excellent opportunity to experience all aspects of the Greek community prior to recruitment.

*What to wear*
Dress casually; this is an extremely relaxed and informal event. T-shirts, casual shorts or skirts are recommended. However, since the BBQ is outdoors, it is important to dress according to the weather.

Sunday, September 23rd - Spirit Day

Spirit Day is a fun event during which potential new members will rotate through every house’s booth in the gym at IM West.  They will meet representatives from each house and have short conversations about Greek life and the individual sororities.  This day helps potential new members to get brief glimpse of what each house is about.

*What to wear*
Casual attire is recommended. The facility will be air-conditioned but it is important to take into account the weather. Potential new members will be on their feet the entire duration of the party so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.

Thursday, September 27h and Friday, September 28th - Philanthropy Day

These are the first days when we will welcome potential new members into our house!  During these parties, each chapter will coordinate some type of project that will benefit the community.  These days will really help you to understand sorority membership in general and get a feel for each house.

*What to wear*
Because you will be working on different types of service items, it is important to dress appropriately. Snappy casual (i.e. usually consists of a dress slacks and a comfortable top) in which you would be comfortable doing anything from painting to sitting on the floor.

Saturday, September 29th - Video Day

On this day, potential new members are shown a short video of pictures and live video of chapter activities, recent social functions, philanthropy events and the day-to-day events in the life of a chapter member.  During these parties you will also be provided with a financial sheet for each organization so that you will better understand the financial obligations of each member. Potential new members will also have the opportunity to take a house tour of the chapter houses. Its important to pay close attention to the living quarters as most chapters have "live-in" requirements.

*What to wear*
Similar to the Philanthropy Days, snappy casual is recommended. Comfortable clothing and footwear is recommended as Potential New Members will be walking up and down the stairs of the chapter houses.

Sunday, September 30th - Preference

Preference parties can be the most reflective and insightful portion of the recruitment process. During these three final parties you need to decide where you will feel the most "at home" so that you can rank your chapter preferences. These parties will focus on the more serious aspects of Greek life. Members will share their fraternal ideals and values. Listen carefully to what the chapter members say, they are revealing their strongest and most fundamental characteristics of their chapter.

*What to wear*
This is the most formal phase of recruitment. A dress you might wear to a semi-formal engagement or wedding reception is appropriate. Simple jewelry is recommended.
